How much is delivery? Portess deliver locally for free.

 

Will you assemble my furniture? We will assemble the furniture in the room of your choice (Unless agreed otherwise).

 

Can you dispose my old furniture? We cannot dispose of any upholstery. However we can dispose your old bed, mattress, divan and bedroom furniture. This will be charged at £25+ (depending on amount of items) and agreed at the time of the order. For items that we don’t dispose your best options are firstly try to sell on via eBay, Facebook, local advertising boards etc, secondly you can try local recycling centres or as a last resort contact the local council.

 

How far do you deliver? As we deliver for free we like to group deliveries together to make them as economic as possible. We currently deliver in the areas of Melton Mowbray, Oakham, Nottingham, Leicester, Grantham, Market Harborough, Stamford. However we have travelled further a field when we have other deliveries on route or nearby. Please ask to see whether we will deliver to you.

 

When do you deliver? We currently deliver and fit carpets throughout the week Monday to Friday. However if the item is small enough to fit into a member of staffs car we can drop it off ourselves at the weekend if required.

 

Will I need to stay at home all day to take delivery? If you require a designated timed delivery we will work our best to do it. Due to the fluctuating traffic and unforeseen circumstances every delivery day is hard to estimate. However we can when booking in a delivery try to give the customer an hour slot. Please let us know if this is required.

 

Can I collect from store? Customers are more than welcome to pick up anything from either of our shops. We ask that you give us as much notice as possible so we can organise the item to be ready, i.e. brought into the shop from our warehouse. We also like to check and wrap the item up safely before its taken away.

Do your products come with a guarantee? All products will come with the statutory 1 year guarantee against faulty manufacturing. However there will be many other warranties and guarantees that change from one manufacturer to another. This can be discussed at the time of order.

 

I have an issue with something I bought from Portess, what shall I do? At Portess we pride ourselves of service. If you are unsure or unhappy with any part of your buying experience or the product please get in touch. We are here to help. If the product is faulty and under guarantee we will first come out to inspect then provide the best means of resolution.

 

What type of flooring do you do? Portess can professionally measure and install all types of carpet, both domestic and commercial, carpet tiles and vinyl flooring.

 

I want a new carpet, how should I go about this? We have all types of carpets at Portess. We hold discounted carpets on the rolls for immediate fitting and have hundreds of sample books that we can talk you through. Contact us by phone or email, or pop into either shop. Portess can then organise a suitable date and time for one of our flooring experts to come to your home with samples and measure up the relevant areas.

 

Do you contract flooring work out? We have 2 full time fitters at Portess that have been fitting carpets for many years and one contracted fitter for when we are extremely busy or need a helping hand.
